Row editing and updating in gridview in asp net
This collection only requires the row index no and it will give us the primary key.Last line of the following code is calling a local method for updating the database and passing all the parameters to this method. These properties will automatically render Edit, Update and Cancel buttons inside Grid View column.I am using Template Field’s Item Template and Edit Item Template for providing read only and editing interface of the same column in the Grid View.My problem is that I have textbox and grid view .i have code which add text box value into grid view I want to when I add value In textbox then I click update button it should replace selected row..

I was having same problem with my Row Updated..that was not getting triggered after my row was updated..I wrote different logic..after trying for hours..now same thing is happening with Row Deleted. This code use to successfully in edit but my record is not update successfully.
The Grid View allows editing on a row-by-row basis.
An editable Grid View contains an additional column with an Edit button in each row.
Please keep in mind that there are many different ways to update the database using the Grid View control depending on the type of data you are updating and the functionality the user need and there are many solutions to achieve the same end result.
In the above tutorial I tried to give you one of the easiest solutions and I hope you can go explore Grid View control editing further after learning the basics from this tutorial.
When the end user clicks on an Edit button that row becomes editable, causing the Edit button to change to Update and Cancel buttons and the other columns to become Text Boxes.
